Saturday, April 27, 2013, a ministry team of 35 members from the Spring of Life Church & Ministries went to the Bekaa valley to minister to the Syrian refugees and the Bedouins living in that area.

The ministry began with praise and worship, followed by a brief message by Pastor Kevork, who shared that the main purpose behind this ministry is conveying the love of Christ that we have experienced in our lives. The message concluded with a prayer ministry, during which a lady was healed.

The end of the gathering marked the beginning of multiple ministries all at the same time. 50 families received packages of food and detergents. 80 families (the average number per family being 5) were examined by our two volunteer doctors and received the prescribed medicines free of charge.

As the doctors were examining the patients, the other members of the ministry team were communicating God’s love and the message of hope to the others in various ways. Some played football with the children, and others taught them how to play the guitar and sang praise songs with them. The ladies on the team listened to the mothers’ pains, encouraged the disappointed daughters, prayed for the hurt and the hopeless, and led a few of them to Christ. In the meantime, the men on the team established bonds of friendship with their Bedouin and refugee counterparts, prayed for those who had lost loved ones in the war, and shared the hope of the gospel with a few others.

The ministry went on from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The 7 hour ministry resulted in the expected but ever-treasured fruit. The people themselves testified saying, “you gave us hope,” “thank you for keeping all your promises,” and “your visit brought joy to our camp; it distracted us from our pain and distress.”

The Spring of Life ministry team returned with a great joy in their heart, having had the chance to share the love of Christ in a practical way, and looking forward to future visits every other month.
